About Our pub
The Old Royal Library in Malvern stands at the foot of the Malvern Hills and has played several roles in the town’s history. Built during the Victorian spa town era, it first served as a private library before later becoming a Barclays Bank. For many years, the words Royal Library were visible across the frontage, a reminder of its earliest purpose.
Today, the building has been carefully returned to community use as a traditional Black Country Ales pub. The refurbishment preserves the character of the former library and bank while providing a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. Guests can enjoy well-kept cask beer, a comfortable setting, and the familiar standards associated with Black Country Ales.
